Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a past presidential contender, has extended his best wishes to Christians around the world as they celebrate Christmas.
His Abuja media office issued a statement in which he called on Christians and Nigerians to celebrate the season by living according to the tenets of love, tolerance, and sacrifice in order to keep the peace, make progress, and further humanity’s cause.
As Nigeria has many development obstacles, he continued, the Christmas spirit—representing joy, peace, hope, love, and goodwill—is desperately required.
Additionally, he emphasized the importance of Nigerians embracing the optimism that accompanies Christmas and reestablishing faith in God’s capacity to redeem Nigeria from its tarnished reputation.
In addition to urging Nigerians to be religious, he urged them to think on the period’s lessons and follow Christ’s example by working for unity and peace.
“More importantly, as we celebrate Christmas this year, let us all be filled with the spirit of Christ’s ministry and genuinely start loving our fellow Nigerians as much as we love ourselves,” Olawepo-Hashim emphasized.
