Isuikwuato General Hospital is in disrepair, according to Akabueze Ndukwe, secretary general of the Isuikwuato Development Union. Ndukwe claims that a 125KVA power generating equipment and many “unserviceable” vehicles have gone missing from the facility.

As Enobong Okafor, counsel to the Abia State Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Recovery of Government Properties and Funds, was cross-examining Ndukwe on the subject of the auction sales of “unserviceable vehicles” and the missing 125KVA Generator, Ndukwe stated that he had noticed the disappearance of the items in 2020 and had informed the relevant parties that they were missing.

He stated that the 125KVA Generator Set was in excellent working order prior to its removal from the hospital grounds and that the objects may be located with the help of Mr. Chukwudi Ujah, the former administrative officer in charge of Isuikwuato LGA, and the Hospital Management Board (HMB).

Additionally, the Judiciary Panel scheduled a hearing for the complaint that several former faculty and employees of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba had filed against Mrs. Chidinma Ndukwe, the acting rector.

Similarly, in his Obingwa LGA and in Aba, former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu granted road contracts, and the Abia State Judicial Panel of Enquiry on Recovery of Government Properties and Funds has visited some of those sites.

While on site, the Panel purportedly found evidence that the contractor had been commissioned for one of the roads given by former Governor Ikpeazu, even though the work had not been finished.

While there, the team also reportedly saw roads with only a partial stone base and poorly designed drainage systems.
