Alleged N1.2 billion fraud prompts Tinubu to suspend MD REA Ahmad and other members of the management team

Three executive directors and Rural Electrification Agency managing director Ahmad Salihijo Ahmed have been suspended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the theft of N1.2 billion over the course of two years.

A Thursday statement from Media andPublicity revealed this.

Executive Directors Olaniyi Alaba Netufo of Corporate Services, Barka Sajou of Technical Services, and Sa’adatu Balgore of the Rural Electrification Fund (REF) are the other three directors who are impacted.

In response to the aforementioned officials’ actions, the president has mandated a further probe.

Tinubu went ahead and announced their successor in the following manner:

Managing Director/CEO Abba Abubakar Aliyu

Corporate Services Executive Director Ayoade Gboyega

The executive director of technical services and Umar Abdullahi Umar

The Rural Electrification Fund (REF) is headed by Doris Uboh. However,

Olufemi Akinyelure is the leader of the Nigeria Electrification Project’s project management unit.
