April 17: Kano Govt to arraign APC Chairman Ganduje and Wife

Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, is scheduled to be charged by the Kano State Government for allegedly misusing public monies and diverting state-owned lands.

According to an arraignment summons obtained by our correspondent, Ganduje will appear in court with his spouse Hafsat and six other defendants on eight counts related to purported dollar bribes, as well as the diversion and theft of monies totaling N1.38 billion and $413,000, respectively.

Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Ltd, Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lesage General Enterprises are additional respondents in the lawsuit.

In the criminal complaint against Ganduje and the other respondents, the Kano State Government stated that it had gathered fifteen witnesses.

The case has been postponed until April 17, 2024, when Justice Malam Na’aba of the Kano State High Court will arraign the parties.
