The Abia State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a warning to drivers and other carriers not to be irresponsible throughout the holiday season, as this could result in tragic accidents.

This warning was delivered by Bridget Asiku, acting sector commandant of the Abia State Command, while outlining some of the precautions taken to avoid mishaps over the holiday season.

According to Asiku, a car in motion can do a summersault if its tires are old or of poor quality.

According to Asiku, a Deputy Corps Commander, some of the causes of road accidents include driving under the influence, carrying too much baggage, not wearing a seat belt, being impatient, driving at night without lights, and speeding.

In an effort to keep the roads of Abia State accident-free this holiday season, the FRSC has sent out reinforcements to key intersections.

The acting sector commander urged drivers to put speed restrictions on their cars and to always pay attention to traffic signals and regulations.
