Christmas: Jigawa tragic car tragedy claims eleven lives

In Taura Local Government, Jigawa State, a tragic car crash has claimed the lives of eleven people.

The event was confirmed by DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command.

Tragically, he said, two cars were involved in a head-on collision at Kwanar Gujungu town in Taura Local Government on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at approximately 1200hrs.

DSP. According to Adam, the outcome was the immediate demise of all eleven people in both cars.

“The unfortunate incident occurred when two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision at Kwanar-Gujungu town in Taura local government,” he said. “One vehicle was a Honda L.E. ash in color with registration number NSR 469 AE, which was carrying five (5) passengers from Kano to Balangu town Kafin Hausa LGA. The other vehicle was a red Golf Wagon driven by Safiyanu Mamu, which was carrying four (4) passengers from Gujungu to Taura LGA.

According to him, a group of officers from the Motor Traffic Department (MTD) Taura Divisional Police Headquarters responded quickly to the call and transported the bodies to the General Hospital, where a doctor determined that they were legally dead.

On behalf of the officers and men of the command, the Commissioner of Police Jigawa State, CP AT Abdullahi psc, conveyed his deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased.

He beseeched the Almighty Allah for forgiveness, kindness, and protection from future misfortunes.
