Eid al-Fitr: Casualties reported as bomb blast strikes market area in Pakistan

A bomb exploded in a market area in Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province, killing at least two people and injuring ten more.

It was said that the event occurred on Sunday night, when an improvised explosive device planted in a motorcycle exploded.

According to provincial police sources, the bomb exploded in the Khuzdar district.

“A police car on routine patrol in the district was the target.

“The target was missed by a few seconds because it had barely crossed the area when the blast occurred,” an official source stated.

According to NAN, the police officers escaped unharmed in the attack, however people shopping for the upcoming Islamic celebration of Eid al-Fitr near the site were murdered and injured.

The injured victims, including included women and children, were taken to hospitals.

So far, no group has claimed credit for the incident.
