Citizens of Borno State are being urged to keep calm by the state government, who have assured them that power will be restored to the entire metropolis and Jere local government area soon.

Aliyu Mohammed Bamanga, the state commissioner for energy and transportation, made the promise in a statement that was accessible to journalists.

This guarantee comes after a recent total blackout in the state.

“The Maiduguri Emergency Backup system was activated, restoring power to parts of the city,” the commissioner announced, adding, “The Borno State Government has coordinated and brought together all stakeholders.”

The commissioner communicated Governor Zulum’s worry about the power outage and his promise to fix it quickly.

That the “power outage and its adverse effects on the people of Borno State” were a major worry for Governor Zulum was his exact words.

He said the governor had expressed sympathy for the people of Borno State and promised to keep pushing for the return of electricity to other areas that are now dark by rallying all relevant stakeholders and making sure everyone is pulling their weight.

A number of parties were thanked by the commissioner, including the federal government, NNPCL, TCN, and YEDC (Yola Electricity Distribution Company).
