Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has reached out to the federal government in an effort to have the transmission towers rebuilt after Boko Haram attacked a 330KVA line.

The news was revealed by Baba Malam Wali, the secretary to the state government, in a press statement that was made accessible to journalists in Damaturu on Saturday.

To ensure that Damaturu and its surrounding areas have access to reliable power, Governor Buni has issued an emergency directive to YEDC and the State Rural Electrification Board to repair the 330KVA transmission line that runs from Potiskum to Damaturu.

The message informed the public that the government is doing all in its power to resolve the issue, and urged them to be patient.

Additionally, it was mentioned that the contract for the reconstruction of the impacted towers has already been awarded by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

According to the GODZGENERALBLOG, on Thursday night, suspected members of the Boko Haram terrorist group detonated explosives in the Kasaisa suburb village, which is located on the outskirts of Damaturu, the capital of the state.
