In Ebonyi, police apprehend 487 suspects and free 12 hostages

Twelve people who had been abducted were freed on Friday by the Ebonyi State Police Command, which also announced the arrest of 487 individuals.

A statement signed by CP Augustina Ogbodo and made accessible to journalists in Abakaliki, the capital of the state, confirmed this.

More than 487 individuals have been taken into custody after more than 300 cases were recorded.

Nearly two hundred and seventy-five cases and one hundred and eighty-seven suspects were brought to justice.

“Fifteen(15) individuals found guilty. More than twelve (12) stolen vehicles, twenty (20) different types of weaponry, and three hundred fifty (350) rounds of ammunition of various calibres have been found.

“We freed over twelve(12) abducted individuals and apprehended offenders from their multiple criminal lairs across various regions of the state,” the CP announced.
