In Taraba, bandits kidnap former vice chairman of the LG

In Taraba State, Ishaya Dimas Dila was abducted by bandits while serving as vice chairman of the Yorro Local Government Council.

A businessman named Lawal Begwa and Dila were abducted in the wee hours of Sunday morning in the village of Dila in the Yorro council.

This happened in Yorro just one day after Alhaji Umaru Nyala, the abducted district chief of Kwaji Chiefdom, was freed.

According to locals who spoke with our journalist, the kidnappers broke into the neighborhood around dawn and abducted Begwa and Dila.

“In the early hours of today, a person and the former vice chairman of Yorro local government council were abducted in Dila village,” confirmed Usman Abdullahi, the state’s police public relations officer (PPRO).

He assured the public that the kidnappers are already in the sights of the police and their sister security services.

The resolve of the command to ensure the safe release of all individuals kidnapped across the state was reaffirmed by him.
