On Friday, Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello gave forty SUVs and four Hilux vans to the state’s legislators and judges.

Additionally, Bello gave 25 ambulances to several state governments.

Bello said the gesture was his way of encouraging performance and recognizing effort as he presented the cars at a ceremony in Lokoja’s Muhammadu Buhari Square.

In addition, he gave the state’s Fire Service three shiny new fire trucks at Lokoja.

One jeep and two support cars were presented to Umar Yusuf, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, by Bello. The majority leader, his deputy, and the other twenty-two members each received one vehicle of a different class and brand.

The state’s judges who stood to gain from the vehicles were distributed by the judiciary, which received nine of them.

In his speech, Governor Bello urged the recipients to use the gift as a call to action to help the state advance economically and socially.

According to the governor, out of the 25 ambulances, one will be assigned to each of the 21 LGAs’ primary healthcare centers (PHCs), three to each of the three senatorial districts’ referral hospitals, and one to Kogi Specialist Hospital.
