At No. 5, Ado Compound, the blaze spread to seven apartments and two stores.

Three of the seven apartments were leveled, and the two stores were utterly filled with debris.

The guys of the fire department did an outstanding job containing the blaze, according to Hassan Adekunle, head of media and publicity for the Kwara State Fire Service.

Fortunately, he added, “other rooms in the building, including many tangible properties, were saved from the scathed fire” because the firemen did a great job of limiting the damage.

The power spike in the vicinity was determined to be the cause of the incident, he said.

Approximately N47.4 million worth of property was salvaged, while a total of N23.8 million worth of property was lost, according to Adekunle.
