Gbenga Ogunbote, the technical adviser for Shooting Stars, has downplayed Lobi Stars’ threat in advance of their Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 30 encounter.

The Oluyole Warriors and Lobi Stars will play their next NPFL match on Sunday at Lekan Salami Stadium.

In their last three NPFL games, Lobi Stars have gone undefeated.

The Pride of Benue, with 51 points from 29 games, are ranked second in the table.

Ogunbote thought that his team had an excellent chance of defeating the Makurdi-based club.

He said to the club’s media, “Well, football is a mind game; football is played on the field, not on print. He has the reasons to blow hot; if you look at his place on the table, wouldn’t you do such a thing?

In 2022, Shooting Stars defeated Lobi Stars 3-0 in their prior encounter.

The game was won by the Ibadan warlords thanks to goals from Ayo Adejubu and a brace from Lucky Emmanuel.
