Martin Odegaard, Arsenal captain, has advised his teammates to “respect” Harry Kane before of their Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

Following a defeat to newly promoted Heidenheim on Saturday, the Bundesliga champions travel to London for the first leg of their meeting with Arsenal.

However, Kane has been in excellent form in his first season at Bayern, scoring 38 goals in 37 appearances and giving 12 assists.

When asked if Arsenal should fear Kane, Odegaard responded: “I think we should respect him, but I don’t think we should fear anyone.”

“And we should focus on ourselves and the quality of our staff, that is all.

“[Kane is] a good player, of course, and I’ve played against him a few times, so we know the skill he has in the box, and he’s also good at link-up play. We’ll be up against a good club on Tuesday.”

While at Tottenham, Kane faced Arsenal 19 times and scored 14 goals.
