Isyaku Mohammed, commissioner of police for the Osun Police Command, has promised that the entire state will be thoroughly secured before, during, and after the Christmas celebrations.

CP Mohammed also ordered DPOs, Area Commanders, and Tactical Commanders to dominate public spaces, particularly places of worship, recreation centers, amusement parks, and other social convergence sites, using police officers and operational assets.

Days prior to this order, the Command had already imposed a statewide prohibition on Yuletide celebrations involving pyrotechnics and street carnivals.

Along with ensuring intelligence-led and high visibility police across the state’s highways, he charged the officers with closely adhering to and enforcing the season’s operation order.

This was announced by CP Mohammed in a statement released on Friday in Osogbo by Yemisi Opalola, the spokesman for the Command.

The citizens of the state are kindly asked to go about their legitimate pursuits without fear and to assist the security forces assigned to these specific missions in order to prioritize the safety of lives and property.

Before, during, and after the Christmas season, I implore the people to observe all applicable laws and maintain a state of calm and vigilance.

They need to keep providing the police with the information they need to keep the peace.

To report suspicious person(s) or movements to the police, they can phone the following numbers: 08039537995, 08123823981, 08075872433, according to the PPRO.
