Officers and personnel of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have been put on high alert by the Taraba State Command to guarantee a safe and secure Yuletide season across the entire state.

According to the command’s spokesperson, Usman Abdullahi, this guarantee was made by Police Commissioner Joseph O. Eribo in a press statement released on Saturday.

The statement claims that sufficient security measures have been put in place by the command prior to, during, and after the holiday activities.

Eribo made it clear to tactical commanders, divisional police officials, and area commanders that they must maintain stringent security measures all during the Christmas season.

The commissioner reassured the Taraba people that all necessary security measures, such as the deployment of personnel and operational assets to places of worship, have been taken.

The announcement emphasized the implementation of statewide visibility patrols to ensure a smooth and trouble-free celebration.

People should be on the lookout for anything fishy and report it immediately. The commissioner emphasized the prohibition on using fireworks and firecrackers over the holiday season and urged parents to keep an eye on their children, warning them not to celebrate too much or get involved in illegal activities.

In a strong warning to would-be lawbreakers, the commissioner emphasized that the command was prepared to deal with any infraction of the law during the Christmas season.

The statement confirmed that there are sufficient individuals to oversee and reduce criminal activity throughout the state, but it did not specify how many officers and workers were deployed.
