The 103-year-old mother of former House Speaker Yakubu Dogara has gone away.
On Friday night, the former Speaker released a statement announcing her passing.
His mother had dedicated her life to serving God and people, and he emphasized this as an expression of his surrender to God’s plan.
“We announce the transition to glory of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Mama Saratu Yakubu Tukur which occurred today, Friday, December 22, 2023, at the age of 103 years,” the lawmaker who represented Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro Constituency said, adding, “it is with utmost gratitude and total submission to the will of God Almighty.”
A subsequent announcement regarding funeral arrangements will be made by the politician, he said.
