Says Manchester United and Manchester City should sign striker because he can play for a high team

Roy Keane, a former captain of Manchester United, has claimed that Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa could be a “top team” player for clubs like United, Liverpool, and Manchester City.

In Sunday’s 4-0 loss to Tottenham, Watkins was unable to score.

However, the England international has had a tremendous season, which has contributed to Villa’s push for a top-four finish.

With 28 goals and 1 assist this season, the 28-year-old is second in the Premier League scoring charts, behind only Erling Haaland.

Surely he’s good enough to play for a major team.

Villa are a good team, but you’re comparing them to Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United, which are far bigger. It’s not that he’s forced to leave Villa; that’s a compliment. But he can pull it off.

The young man is quite athletic and has a strong mind. He can out-do any Premier League striker with his mobility. “He’s been absolutely phenomenal this season,” Keane exclaimed on Sky Sports.

Villa Park has extended Watkins’ contract until 2028.
