The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, and the Chairman of the Red Chamber’s Appropriations Committee, Senator Solomon Adeola, have urged every Nigerian to live in peace, unity, and harmony as Muslims around the world celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of the Ramadan fast.

In separate comments, the parliamentarians expressed their congratulations to Muslims for successfully finishing the 30-day Ramadan fast and celebrating Eid-el-Fitr. They also exhorted Muslims to uphold the teachings learned throughout the holy month and incorporate them into their daily lives.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau, speaking on behalf of APC Kano North and serving as the acting Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, pleaded to Allah to accept the good acts, prayers, and supplications of the Ummah throughout the auspicious month.

He emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has excellent intentions for the nation and called on Nigerians to pray for the country’s growth and prosperity while preaching unity among all citizens.

He stated that the Legislature, led skillfully by Senator Godswill Akpabio, will keep providing President Tinubu with the laws required to actualize the Renewed Hope Agenda and bring about the transformation of the nation.

Senator Barau urged Muslims to show compassion and assist the underprivileged both during and after the holiday, even as he wished them a happy and peaceful celebration.

“I want to celebrate with all of the Muslims in our country because Wednesday, April 10, is the first day of Shawwal 1445AH, which signifies the conclusion of the Ramadan Fast. This is a moment to express gratitude to the Almighty Allah and to celebrate joy and contentment.
