Dr. Peter Mbah, governor of Enugu State, has celebrated the Supreme Court’s decision to affirm his election as governor in the March 18, 2023, election. He has pledged to put his all energy into fulfilling his mission to improve Enugu State.

Mbah expressed his gratitude to the people of Enugu for their unwavering support throughout the judicial review of his mandate by the Enugu State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court, describing it as a significant emotional, physical, and spiritual investment. He vowed not to let them down.

These remarks were delivered by him in Enugu on Friday in response to the ruling of the Supreme Court in Abuja, which had earlier that day rejected the appeal of Chijioke Edeoga, the candidate for governor from the Labour Party.

At a speech delivered amidst applause at the Government House, the Governor hailed the outcome as a triumph for the people and a catalyst to sustain the development momentum and realize his vision for an expanded Enugu State.

The highest court in the land, the Supreme Court, has handed down its final ruling on the last round of appeals against the mandate you freely granted us on March 18, 2023, he announced. We express our gratitude to God for the learned justices’ affirmation of your sacred will.
