Umaru Nyala, paramount monarch of Kwaji Chiefdom in Taraba State, was rescued last week after being kidnapped.

The traditional king was reportedly freed over the weekend, according to several locals in the Yorro Local Government Council of Taraba village.

According to what our reporter has learned, the kidnappers freed the monarch and another victim.

The supreme ruler and other victims were kidnapped in the Kwaji region of Pupule village in Yorro council last Tuesday.

After his release, several locals talked with GODZGENERALBLOG, pleading with the government and security forces to spare no effort in rescuing the other hostages our reporter has learned are still held by the kidnapper.

The state government should provide logistical support to the security agencies, according to the people who are currently demanding a large-scale deployment of armed security forces to the region.

The release of the monarch and one other individual has been confirmed by Usman Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the police command.

He said that Alhaji Umaru Mohammed was one of the people released with the king.

Despite the command’s inability to confirm whether the rescued individuals were forced to pay a ransom before being released, an anonymous community source informed our reporter that influential members of the community and the local government council pooled their resources to appease the captors.
