Former senator Shehu Sani has demanded that the government of President Bola Tinubu restore funds that were allegedly embezzled from the CBN and the ministry of humanitarian affairs under the previous administration.
You may remember that Godwin Emefiele, the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was on trial not long ago for allegedly buying commercial banks illegally while he was in office.
Just as Saddiya Umar-Farouk was minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management, and social development, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly found N37 billion plundered from her ministry.
The alleged theft from CBN and the ministry of humanitarian affairs took place while Mohammadu Buhari was president.
Sani responded on Sunday on his official X Twitter, stating that the money should be returned and used to improve educational institutions.
“President Tinubu should recover money looted from the CBN and the one looted from the Humanitarian ministry under the Buhari ‘integrity’ administration and specifically use it to fund the budget of our public universities, polytechnics, COEs, and Federal Government Colleges,” the post asserts.
