The conference, he said, will unite journalists from all five regions of Africa, along with decision-makers, project owners, donors, and operators from all over the continent. The theme is “Quality of road infrastructure and development in Africa.”
By issuing this news release, the General Commission is extending an invitation to all interested parties to submit proposals, and it is also urging the mobilization of diverse and rich exchanges for the advancement of Africa.
In keeping with the spirit of this important gathering, the Africa Road Builders are asking all African organizations and institutions to share the news about their greatest transportation and road accomplishments so that they can be named the winners of the “Builder Trophy” in 2024.
A number of new categories for the ‘Builder Trophy’ will be introduced in the 2024 edition. According to him, this necessitates enhancing the recognition of all parties involved.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the Super Prize Great Builder – Babacar NDIAYE Trophy 2024 will be bestowed upon an African Head of State whose nation has achieved remarkable results in relation to the year’s overarching theme, as is customary for the occasion.
As a special guest of the 2024 Inaugural Conference, His Excellency Andry RAJOELINA of Madagascar will be succeeded by the 2024 Laureate. RAJOELINA was the 2023 laureate.
Recall that the Selection Committee, comprised of journalists from all around Africa, is responsible for naming the winner of the Babacar NDIAYE Trophy.
At the conclusion of the Inaugural Conference, the winners of the Builders Trophy and the Super Prize Great Builder – Babacar NDIAYE Trophy will be announced. The winners will be formally presented these prizes during the Final Conference, which will be held in May 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of the AfDB Annual Meetings.
The General Commission will also suggest to the Selection Committee that the top UAE officials receive a special prize for their achievements in the transportation sector, specifically in the areas of roads and infrastructure.
Just as Dubai and the United Arab Emirates represent progress in terms of roads and transport, the General Commission expects that the Inaugural Conference that has been planned will be inspiring and bring effective development to Africa.
As a global meeting place for development and future-related matters, Dubai is also a fortress.
The Africa Road Builders – Trophée Babacar NDIAYE was founded in 2016 with the inspiration of Dr. Babacar NDIAYE, the 5th President of the African Development Bank (AfDB). According to Kouame, the African Development Bank and its president, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, have been supporting the event since its inception.
