Newly promoted officers in the command have been advised by the leadership of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Taraba State command to take advantage of the chance that has been given to them and to live up to the expectations set by the federal government.

Adamu Salihu, the state commander, made this plea on Saturday at a ceremony honoring newly promoted officers in Jalingo, the capital of the state.

Recall that 21,385 NSCDC employees were promoted by the federal government, as recently stated by Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. It was noted that more than 300 members of the state’s corps were promoted as a result of this decision.

According to Salihu, the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has ended the practice of holding staff promotions to a later date and has made this promotion a first for the corps.

“We have never seen such a huge promotion in the Corps before,” Salihu said.

He emphasized that with honor comes a responsibility to show dedication to duty and give selfless devotion to the nation, and he urged the recipients to return the favor.

Through Barrister Gebon T. Kataps, the state’s secretary to government, Agbu Kefas, the governor of the state, conveyed his joy at the development and promised the command that the state government would continue to support efforts to make the corps more effective in the state.
