Randy Waldrum, the Super Falcons’ head coach, believes his players understand the urgency of qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Games.

The nine-time African champions hope to return to the Olympics after a 16-year sabbatical.

Waldrum’s team overcame South Africa 1-0 in the first leg of their final qualifying round match on Friday.

The two teams will face off in the reverse fixture on Tuesday at Pretoria’s Lotfus Versfeld Stadium.

The overall winner is guaranteed a seat in Paris 2024.

“We will go into the match the same way, confident,” Waldrum remarked before the game.

“Our players know what’s at stake and I feel confident in our players that they will go and get the result.”
