Wike says Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda won’t end in cities

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has reaffirmed that the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda will continue in metropolitan areas.

According to Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Administration is dedicated to supplying the rural FCT Area Council towns with infrastructure.

This was stated by the Minister on Friday during his inspection of a few ongoing road projects in the Kwali Area Council.

Wike insisted that development could not be limited to the city center and gave assurances that the FCT Administration would equally pursue development in the countryside.

The Minister for the Federal Capital Territory asserts that “development must reach rural areas.” Rural-urban migration can be reduced by that alone.

“You must provide them with the framework so they can grow independently. For instance, without a road, how will their farmers transport their produce to the city?

“Consider the security implications if someone were abducted. Take a look at the topography to see how the security agencies would get access to this kind of place.

Therefore, building infrastructure—especially roads—is essential to the growth of these communities, as they will be affected by government.

That’s what the Renewed Hope Agenda is all about. It isn’t exclusive to city dwellers. For people living in rural areas as well.

“I am especially happy that we are bringing development to the countryside.”
